With winter in full swing, people all over the country are enjoying the cooling weather and outdoor sports activities that go along with it. Just as many people are headed to the stadiums for football or basketball games with pregaming rituals, others are grilling in the backyard barbecue or holiday cooking in side. For these occasions, nothing goes better with good music, friends, and food than delicious grilled wings.
The appeal of grilled wings is undeniable.
I have and will always love chicken wings in almost any flavor. I have always liked buffalo style wings, but the following are a few concerns I have had with them in general at some sports bars.
1. Buffalo sauce can be very fattening due to the amount of butter and sugar added. Ugh! Generally speaking, while tasty, a lot of ingredients are extremely unhealthy for you.
2. Many are too hot for me personally to enjoy- to often the buffalo sauce is so hot that my lips and tongue are burning from the buffalo sauce seconds after taking a bite. As a result, I end up drinking more than eating to cool down my mouth.
Only a period of time I got tired of the buffalo wing experience. I wanted to eat a healthier wing and enjoy my wings without guzzling my beer. I wanted some zing to my wing but I wanted a bite that let go. And so began my quest for a new way to enjoy chicken wings. Unknown to me at the time, there were many other wing eaters out there that were frustrated with the buffalo heat as well but kept eating them regardless.
Trial and error with plenty of wing tastings led me to the formulas we now offer. Each flavor will have a "bite" based on its flavor. West Indies with have a Caribbean spiciness. Hot Garlic gives you the immediate taste of fresh garlic, with the "bite" delayed and coming in after the garlic flavor pervades your mouth. Our last developed flavor, Wasabi Ginger, offers a wasabi type "bite". In each case, you experience a bit of heat that does not overcome your taste buds. Instead you get a little heat, but the heat goes away, leaving you experiencing the combined flavor of the chicken, fish, meat, or vegetable and your favorite Florida Grillin' or California Wingin' sauce. Hence our catch phrase "The Bite That Lets Go". So if you are looking for something a bit different and unique when it comes to wing sauce, be sure to try our Florida Grillin’ wing sauces.
With all the flavors and healthy benefits our sauces offer, we hope you try our sauces on chicken, fish, shellfish, meat, and vegetables and let us know in our blog how you cooked it so that others can try the delicious and healthy possibilities!
